The detail

“Combine a classic African safari and volunteering in South Africa for a truly inspiring holiday.”

The Wildlife Volunteer & African Safari Tour is the perfect way to experience South Africa. You’ll meet inspiring people, gaze upon awe-inspiring landscapes, and interact with iconic wildlife, and all this whilst helping change things for the better! Setting off in the buzzing Johannesburg, you’ll make your way to the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, which rescues injured wildlife with the hope of releasing them into the wild. You’ll spend two days helping out where needed and interacting with the animals. You’ll also get to experience wildlife in a different way with a night drive to see nocturnal animals. Then, you’ll volunteer for five days at the Daktari Bush School, which aims to inspire and educate local children to care for their environment. The rest of the tour will take you to the Olifants River and the famous Kruger National Park for some world-class wildlife watching.

We have a strong commitment to promoting action-fuelled adventures that are also environmentally friendly, priding themselves on their respect for Africa's nature. They use biodegradable products when camping in the wild and strive to protect and nurture local communities. Toerboer supports organisations including 'Qhubeka', a World Bicycle Relief program that is dedicated to advancing education, health and economic opportunities for Africans by utilising sustainable transport. This organisation provides locals with bikes, expanding their ability to travel and educate themselves with minimal impact on the environment. They also advise their customers on how best to be a environmentally responsible traveller and offset their flights, carbon emissions, with a donation through the organisation 'Atmosfair'.
