"Striking the perfect balance between comfort and adventure, a visit to Sirikoi Lodge allows you to feel completely at home in the wild Kenyan landscape"
Found on private ground within the perimeters of Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Sirikoi offers unparalleled wildlife viewing alongside a high standard of luxury living. This intimate, family-run lodge is surrounded by a tapestry of open grasslands, iconic acacia forests and verdant swamps which are home to 350 species of bird and over 70 species of mammal - including the endangered black and white rhino and Grevy’s zebra.
The Sirikoi site consists of two independent houses and four luxury tented rooms. Each room comes with an open fireplace – perfect for chilly evenings – and its own ensuite bathroom complete with a Victorian freestanding bath. Every location boasts magnificent views across the conservancy allowing uninterrupted wildlife viewing and a true immersion into safari life. Day and night game drives, bush walks and visits to the conservancy headquarters are all part of this exclusive experience, whilst visits to the pools and waterfalls of the beautiful Ngare Ndare Forest can also be arranged.
Sustainability is the foundation on which Sirikoi is built. Voted Ecotourism Kenya’s 2015 Eco Lodge of the year, Sirikoi also achieved the organisation’s Gold Certification. Its dedication to sustainable practise can be seen in every element of lodge life. All energy is solar powered, all water comes from a mountain spring and a bountiful, organic garden provides daily fruit and vegetables. The dedicated use of eco-friendly cleaning products and toiletries and a strict recycling policy mean that even outsourced products leave as minimal an environmental impact as possible.
But this harmonious approach to life extends far beyond camp. By adding 7,000 acres of land to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Sirikoi has provided crucial habitats for endangered species and increased space for expanding populations. Sirikoi is also involved in a number of projects which offer vital assistance to local communities: 21 schools in the area are helped by the Lewa Education Programme (which is supported by Sirikoi), and a local orphanage benefits from Sirikoi's provision of financial aid, administrative time, and equipment. Sirikoi is also an active member of Pack for a Purpose, a groundbreaking initiative that allows travellers to make valuable contributions to communities. By saving space in a suitcase visitors can bring supplies for schools or medical centres in need and make a lasting, and positive impact on local life.
