“Get the best of both worlds by staying in a stunning eco lodge and in a biostation in the most gorgeous and biologically diverse part of Costa Rica!”
This is a gorgeous educational holiday package in the Osa Peninsular, Costa Rica. You will spend your first three nights at one of Trip Advisor’s #1 rated lodges, Saladero. Saladero is more than just a lodge. It is the home of the owners Harvey and Susan and they do everything they can to make it feel like your home too. The lodge is in a magical and secretive part of the country, accessible only by boat! The sustainable location is completely off-grid and holds 480 acres of private reserve within the Piedras Blancas National Park!
After luxury and relaxation, you will spend your next three night a little more involved at Osa’a BioStation. Here you have access to mature rainforest and stunning coastline. Here you will stay in one of the cabins, in a rustic bedroom. There is an indoor shower but if you want you can shower in the gorgeous tropical outdoor shower. There are plenty of chairs and hammocks to rest in and a common area to socialise.
During your time there, you will get to take part in mangrove exploration in the Rio Esquinas by kayak and boat; classes in sustainable living, rainforests and medicinal plants; hands-on field experiences in turtle conservation, wild animal monitoring, reforestation and healthy rivers. The stay is full board with transportation between your lodges included. You will also have fresh natural juices included with your meals.
Saladero is a stunning off-grid eco lodge. Power is provided by solar charged batteries and mini-hydro electric power. Hot water for showers is mainly from passive heating systems.
Food provided is locally purchased with a large portion of the fruit and vegetables grown on site.
