"A colourful stay in Caribbean Costa Rica."
Sat in amongst a tropical garden, a stone’s throw away from miles of golden beach: Le Cameleon Boutique Hotel offers a truly memorable stay on the Caribbean Coast. Situated in the seaside village of Puerto Viejo in Costa Rica, your stay will combine the calming relaxation of the elegant hotel with the vibrant culture that attracts tourists from all around. The rooms themselves are designed throughout with a sleek minimalist style that makes the most of natural lighting – a taste of modern aesthetic in amongst one of the most serene settings imaginable.
Activities-wise, you’ll be fairly spoilt for choice even before you step foot out of the hotel. A day beside the pool should not go amiss and a meal in the exceptional ‘Le NUMU’ restaurant is a definite highlight. Beyond the comfort of your hotel, there are plenty of opportunities to get out there and experience the best of what Costa Rica has to offer. From sea-kayaking and surfing to tropical birdwatching expeditions and visits to the local national parks, there’s something to suit every taste. To cap a day off, why not spend an evening strolling along the pristine beaches admiring an awe-inspiring sunset?
At the site of the hotel in Puerto Viejo, the local area is a treasure trove of natural and cultural features that have been preserved for generations. So unsurprisingly, Le Cameleon strives to uphold these values and has several sustainable features to ease your environmental conscience. One of the most significant aspects of the hotel’s drive for sustainability is the contribution to the Blue Flag Beach Program, a scheme that is implemented in several countries across the globe and aims to improve the quality of the world’s beaches. This includes maintaining high levels of water quality and safety along our coastlines. At Le Cameleon, an outreach program has been set up to promote beach cleaning, an initiative which improves the health of the coastline whilst in turn making it safer for visitors.
Aside from improving beaches, the hotel itself uses low energy light bulbs as this minimising energy consumption. As the rooms are designed to maximise the effect of natural light, the demand for artificial lighting is thus reduced. On a monthly basis, the hotel makes a charitable donation to ‘Amigos de los Parques Nacionales’ (Friends of the National Park), a charity focussing on preserving Costa Rica’s nature reserves and national parks. This ensures that the natural landscape and the ecosystems that exist within them remain protected into the future and, in turn, entice future tourists to visit the area.
