"Surf, swim, dive and relax on a tour of Jamaica's most beautiful waterfalls, rainforests and secluded beaches."

Jamaica is well known for its laid-back culture, and on this trip you'll definitely get the chance to lounge on beaches and eat jerk chicken while listening to some Bob Marley! However, first and foremost this tour is aimed at intrepid travellers, with a host of adrenaline-pumping activities lined up in some of Jamaica's most beautiful spots. Expect to see an array of fascinating wildlife including glowing marine life in a mystical lagoon, and snakes and butterflies in the foggy heights of the Blue Mountains! Hike, surf and canoe in a place aptly described by explorer Christopher Columbus as 'the most beautiful isle mine eyes ever beheld'.

Touching down in Montego Bay, you'll head to the 'Luminous Lagoon' to check out the glistening micro-organisms that illuminate the waters there, before moving on to the mysterious Green Grotto Caves. Visit the birthplace of Reggae music in the capital Kingston, and discover the art, music and food that infuses this city with its soul. Be on the look-out for crocodiles as you paddle down the 'Black River' before you finish up the trip basking in the sun at the the famous 7 Mile Beach in Negril, where you can reflect on your Caribbean adventure!

TREE has set out on a mission to advance 'progressive conservation', the ethos of which is not to do less to the environment but to pro-actively explore and engage with it in a way that will promote sustainable practices. TREE aims to do this through a variety of forward thinking methods, including environmental education, outreach, community development and protected area funding. TREE is aiming to off-set carbon emissions, assist in water management and river monitoring, and educate travellers about their eco-friendly agenda.

Every site you will stay at on this tour will be part of a protected area or working in conjecture with environmental research. The money that you spend will pay for the lodging, food, transportation, ranger guidance and excursions into the protected areas such as the Blue Mountains, where you will receive informative talks on conservation from experts. Your very participation in this tour will contribute to the sustainability efforts being undertaken on this glorious island, and you will get to experience the full magnitude of Jamaica's beauty as you explore its forests, beaches and mountain ranges.

Day 1

Montego Bay and Luminous Lagoon: Touch down and head straight to Montego Bay, a tourist's dream that provides great opportunities for forays onto the beach and shopping expeditions. Head down to the wondrous 'Luminous Lagoon', so named for the population of 'dinoflagellates' in its waters that sparkle and glisten in the darkness. The Lagoon is one of only four of its kind in the world and is widely believed to be the best by many scientists and marine experts. Next up travel to the Lilliput hills in the region of Saint Elizabeth and enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal in the home of a local villager!

Day 2

Dornoch River Head, Green Grotto Cave, or Island Gully Falls: Here you'll have the option of staying at Runaway Bay, Usain Bolt's childhood home and the birthplace of Bob Marley, or the beautiful port of Ocho Rios. Visit the Green Grotto Caves, a green underworld cavern system that remain largely unexplored and are abundant with thick vegetation and flowing streams. At Island Gully's Falls you can dive into the waterfall, swim or swing off a 'Tarzan rope' into the Fall's azure blue waters. At Dornoch's River Head you can go zip-lining, diving and swimming in this picturesque river that emerges from under the ground!

Day 3-5

Arrive at the foothills of the cloud-piercing Blue Mountains and begin a rewarding trek up the lush, green mountainside as you learn first-hand about the bio-diversity in this area. Next, head to the serene Blue Lagoon, a peaceful inlet where you can take a dip, before moving onto the brilliant Reach Falls, which offer a series of twisting caves and will involve plenty of 'hold your breath' moments, as you duck under waterfalls! Next you can wile away your afternoon surfing on the remote coastal beach of Boston Bay or venturing further into the forest on the look-out for exotic wildlife!

Day 6

Kingston: Head to Kingston, Jamaica's vibrant capital and fully immerse yourself into the country's culture. You'll visit street art projects and explore the connections between art, music and the environment in Jamaican life. In Kingston you can fully embrace the Rastafarian way of life best epitomised by Bob Marley, listening to music and drinking on the beach while feasting on jerk chicken, rice and peas, patties, ackee and saltfish, and even peanut porridge! On top of this, you'll have the chance to check out street festivals that regularly occur in this lively city.

Day 7

Kingston to Saint Elizabeth Parish: Today you will explore what is also known as the 'Bread Basket' of Jamaica, home to the country's largest parish and the famously spectacular Breadnut Valley Falls. Partner up for the Falls renowned 'Lovers Leap' and later raft down the 'Black River', an exciting stretch of tumultuous rapids.

Day 8

7 Mile Beach in Negril: Negril is a widely dispersed beach resort town that stretches across two different Jamaican parishes. This stretch of coastline contains some of Jamaica's most exquisite beaches, where you can unwind and relax after a week of stimulating adventure and exploration! Cap off a wonderful tour with a visit to the famous Rick's Cafe where you have one last test of your diving mettle – an 11 metre jump from the cafe into the sea below!

Day 9

Montego Bay: Shake off the water and return to Montego Bay for departure. Reflect on the thrilling and unique experiences of a life-time as you soar above the majestic scenery of this tropical island paradise!
