"Learn about indigenous cultures and conservation work on two secluded and stunning Indian islands!"
Explore two gorgeous islands in a lesser-known area of India. The islands are very biodiverse, home to many species found nowhere else. You will have a chance to meet both wildlife researchers and to indigenous tribes. You will stay with ANET, an organisation which promotes equitable and ecologically sustainable development. You will also have your own private cabana set in the jungle, surrounded by forested hillsides and mangrove swamps and just minutes away from oceans teeming with corals and fish. While here, you will learn about the local wildlife and participate in various research and environmental education initiatives. There is an onsite PADI dive centre and you can arrange dives in the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park.
After five days, travel to Havelock Island for some of the best beaches in all of Asia. Spend your nights here in Andaman style accommodations. Relax, explore the island, SCUBA dive and swim in the sparkling waters. Enjoy glorious local seafood, and completely unwind.
In this project you will be working with ANET, the Andaman and Nicobar Environment Team. The group carries out work in both natural and social sciences, helping communities to develop in socially and environmentally sustainable ways.
