Treehouse Lodge strives to provide guests with an amazing and unforgettable experience of the Amazon Rainforest, whilst also ensuring that the natural environment is left in a better condition than they found it. Driven by this mission, they are proud to have established themselves as a world-leader in ‘green’ hotel practices. Treehouse Lodge was built by hand, with every effort made to preserve each tree and plant on the property and to minimise any potential negative impact on the natural environment. Today, the lodge runs with sustainability at the forefront of operations; most of the water used at the lodge comes from the river, with a four-tank purification system providing water for showers, sinks, toilets and cleaning, and waste products are disposed of using an eco-friendly septic system. The recent addition of a solar-power system at the lodge means that all of its electricity is generated using ‘green’ energy. Solar panels collect and store energy throughout the day, to be used to power and light the lodge at night-time. This not only ensures the lodge’s energy efficiency, but also allows guests to enjoy one of the most captivating features of the jungle, its sounds, without being disturbed by the constant rumbling of a generator. Treehouse Lodge is proud to be driving towards 100% energy self-sufficiency, and hopes that its guests can contribute to their efforts in preserving the stunning natural environment for future generations to enjoy.
