"Check out this eco glamping stay that keeps you nice and relaxed whilst getting your much needed nature hit!"
If ‘roughing it’ in a typical campsite isn’t for you, The Farm Camp offers a tempting alternative: ‘eco-glamping’. Situated in charming wooded countryside near Bath, this camp lets you reconnect with nature whilst also having a comfortable and relaxing experience. Spacious traditional bell tents allow you to experience the wild beauty of the untamed outdoors without finding yourself knee-deep in mud and without hot water. The tents are cosily furnished with log-burning stoves and futon beds made with fresh linen. As well as catering for bigger groups, The Farm Camp is ideally suited for two-to-four person midweek breaks, so why not take the opportunity to enjoy the perfect nature retreat?
As well as being ideally suited for exploring the stunning local area (including a nearby Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), the camp itself has numerous facilities to offer its guests. There are hot showers and communal spaces including a green area, deck and an ‘egg shelter’, where guests can relax, play games and eat together. Activities offered at The Farm Camp include archery, yoga and massages, and guests can also enjoy the luxury of a heated indoor pool. Optional excursions in the local area include a tour of a professional stables and a vineyard and wine-tasting tour. Here, you’ll be educated about different organic wines, and can practice your ‘wine-talk’. Or just try so many wines that you are unable to manage even normal talk.

The Farm Camp, designed with nature in mind, has many features that distinguish it as particularly eco-friendly. In building the camp, materials from around the farm were recycled and re-used wherever possible to ensure that the camp is in-keeping with the natural farm environment. The camp’s management strive to ensure that their impact on their surroundings is minimised in every way possible. To try to achieve this all shower gels, soaps and cleaning products are eco-friendly, and recycling waste is a top priority.
The camp also makes use of low-impact, eco-friendly compost toilets for every tent, providing an excellent way to reduce water usage and also prevent pollution. The camp’s indoor pool is heated using a biomass boiler. Guests at the camp are urged to enjoy the ‘off-grid’ lifestyle, and to become ‘at one’ with nature by abandoning their fuel-guzzling cars and instead walking and cycling along the many fantastic routes in the camp’s locality. Indeed, Eco Companion journalist Laura Fairbourn has included The Farm Camp on her list of '6 havens for a digital detox' - check it out here!
