Good things come in small packages, and this is certainly the case with the Mini Montenegro Experience. This tour will take you to the most stunning locations Montenegro has to offer. Immerse yourself in nature with visits to three of the country’s stunning national parks, which are all places of astounding natural beauty, and boast a spectacular array of flora and fauna. While surrounded by this gorgeous scenery, take the opportunity to participate in a variety of outdoor activities which will really get your blood pumping, such as hiking, horse riding and white water rafting.
Montenegro is also a country bursting with fascinating history and culture. On this tour you will visit world-renowned locations; Kotor itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a perfect place to begin exploring Montenegro’s past. As you travel through the awe-inspiring Lovcen National Park, visit the Mausoleum of Montenegrin ruler and poet, Petar II Petrović-Njegoš, the man who penned the poem Gorski vijenac (The Mountain Wreath), which is considered a literary masterpiece and the national epic of Montenegro. Also visit the immense Tara Bridge, which is a spectacular demonstration of architecture and engineering; the bridge consists of five arches and stands 172m above the Tara River. At the time of its construction, it was the largest concrete arch bridge in Europe.
Montenegro is a small country, but an impressive 10% is covered by national parks. This tour takes you to three of these spectacular locations (Lovcen National Park, Durmitor National Park and Mt. Biograd National Park), giving you the opportunity to immerse yourself in nature, and appreciate how imperative it is that these protected areas are maintained. The stunning Lovcen National Park stretches over 6,220 hectares, and boasts an abundance of flora and fauna; it is home to various types of reptile, 85 species of butterfly, as well as large mammals such as brown bears and wolves. 200 avian species also call this park home, such as the peregrine falcon and the golden eagle.
You will also stay in Montenegro’s first Eco Village, which is situated in the stunning wilderness of Katun Vranjak. The accommodation here is built using the same techniques practiced by the Montenegrin Highlanders for centuries, the only concession to 21st century modernity being solar panels, which provide electricity for the village. The village is entirely self-sufficient, and gives you a true insight into sustainable living. There is a farm which produces organic food, which is used to create the delicious traditional meals. By visiting this small village and learning about life for its inhabitants, travellers help to preserve the lifestyle as well as benefit local businesses.
Arrive in Montenegro’s vibrant capital, Podgorica. Then, travel to picturesque Kotor, stopping to visit the small islet of Sveti Stefan, which has been named ‘the pearl of the Adriatic’. Kotor itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, rich with culture and history and the perfect place to explore. Visit the magnificent Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, and even climb the crumbling city walls to enjoy breath-taking views across the Bay.

Then, continue to the mountain town of Kolasin where there will be a fascinating tour and tasting at a local honey farm. You are then taken to the remote Katun Vranjak, Montenegro’s Eco-Village.
