“Explore the stunning Yasuni National park, camping and kayaking!”

Become a true jungle explorer on this incredible expedition through the Amazon. Discover pristine rainforest in Ecuador’s Yasuni National Park, famous for its biodiversity and its authentic indigenous cultures which are still very much alive. You will see so many creatures going about their daily lives, happily unaware of you. Parrots, toucans, macaws, kingfishers, and herons, will dance through the skies while curious giant otters will splash around the boats. Through the verdant trees you will spot monkeys jumping between branches and even jaguars lazing. Meet some native Kichwa people and learn about their rich culture, still very much alive in this part of the forest.

This tour is lead by a team who focus on highlighting the beauty, environmental significance, and astounding cultural diversity of the area. The philosophy of these trips is to focus above all on the beauty of life and how to best protect it. Adventure travelling in this way changes people's perspectives and shows them how important it is to protect our planet.

Day 1
Day 1 - Arrival in Quito

Welcome to Quito! This is the largest and best preserved city in the Americas and in 1978 it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Indeed, this city is utterly fascinating. It is considered the cultural capital of South America as well as the second most important city of the old Inca Empire.

If you arrive in the morning, you will have some time to explore the stunning old town and the surrounding area. If you want to organize a day trip, don’t hesitate to ask us and we will help you!

In the evening, you will head to your hotel and meet your guide for a welcome briefing.

Day 2
Day 2 - Flight to Coca and The Yasuni Park

Begin your first full day by catching a flight to Coca town, where your adventure will really begin. Take a scenic drive to the Tiputini River at the entrance of the Yasuni National Park and enjoy a picnic on the banks. Your first kayak expedition will be paddling down the river, surrounded by nature and wildlife. On the way keep an eye out for river turtles, monkeys, caimans, and bird species including caciques, king fishers, macaws, toucans, parrots and more. You will spend tonight at your campsite.

Day 3
Day 3 - Camping in Yasuni National Park

Fuel up on a healthy breakfast, then continue your kayaking adventure deeper into the jungle. Every day in the Amazon is a new adventure. The more you paddle, the more pristine and wild the jungle becomes, exploding with life. During the day, you will also take hikes to learn about the native plants and their uses in medicine. In the late afternoon, arrive at your campsite and your chef will prepare a gourmet meal for you.

Day 4
Day 4 - Kayaking in the Anaconda Lagoon Flooded Forest

After breakfast, you will start kayaking down the Tiputini to reach the entrance to the Amarun - Cocha, the “Anacaonda Lagoon” in the local language. This is found in the most pristine forest in the area and - with luck - you may see the largest and most beautiful snake on the planet. Enjoy breathtaking landscapes with incredible dark, clear waters in the flooded forest. You will also have a chance to see piranhas, caimans, boas and more.

Later you will head back to camp and relax a little in the hammocks. When it gets dark, you will head out on a night expedition to see insects, frogs, and with luck some snakes.

Day 5
Day 5 - Meet the Mandari - Panga local tribe

In the morning, you will take a hike in the pristine forest to learn about the rich flora of the area and how some of the plants are used for medicinal purposes. After lunch, you will take a canoe to a local Kichwa community to learn about their life in the jungle, their stories, and traditions. You will also learn how they make the traditional drink chicha. You will then spend a tranquil afternoon fishing.

Day 6
Day 6 - Coca to Quito

Start the day early, heading to the clay lick as early as possible. This is one of the best adventures in the jungle. Head to either Lamederos or Saladeros. These are parrot clay licks and are the ideal chance to see an incredible concentration of parrots and macaws, as well as predators in the surrounding area. The birds come to feed on the clay from the mineral enriched ground, helping them to digest. Such places are truly special as they allow you to see such a wide range of wildlife all gathered around one of nature's most improtant resources.

Later return to Cocoa and catch a flight back to Quito.

Day 7
Day 7 - Depart

Say some fond farewells and head off on further adventures or home.
