Your guide will meet you at the Jackson Hole area hotel. You will begin the adventure by searching for the abundant wildlife of Grand Teton National Park. Over the past few years, Grand Teton has become one of the best wildlife viewing parks in the world, with all of the region’s wildlife finding a home here at some point in the year. Moose, elk, deer, bison, pronghorn, fox, coyote, bald and golden eagles, black bears, grizzly bears and even wolves are commonly spotted depending on season. You will spend some time enjoying the stunning scenery and famous sites of the park. The tour will then take you north to Yellowstone National Park, along the Snake and Lewis Rivers, past Lewis Falls and Lewis Lake to the continental divide. You will head towards the famous Fishing Bridge - one of the best bear and wolf watching areas in the park! On your way towards Hayden Valley you may have the chance to see Mud Volcano. Then, at the top of the canyon you will watch the river fall over layers of rock shelves to create a 20 miles long canyon that is one of the most picturesque places in this beautiful park. From here, you will move on to the Lamar Valley, the “Serengeti of North America”. This is the best wildlife viewing area in all Yellowstone and known for the abundance of grizzlies and wolves. The day will end in Silvergate Montana at the Grizzly Lodge. Enjoy a delicious and warming dinner, then roast marshmallows over a fire, surrounded by Soda Butte Creek and huge mountains.
Wake early to return to the Lamar Valley for another chance to see wolves and bears. Coffee will be served in the field by your guide. It is up to you how long is spent tracking the bears, wolves, and other wildlife here. Then, you will move on through Yellowstone to enjoy the park’s other delights. This might include the upper, middle and lower geyser basins and of course time to see the eruption of Old Faithful located in the upper geyser basin. You will then travel south over the continental divide three times on the return trip to Grand Teton National Park and Jackson Hole. Head back to your Jackson Hole area hotel by early evening in time to check-in and get some dinner.
