Costa Rica’s diversity and natural beauty makes it an incredible draw for eco tourists. Enjoy luxury and help to protect the incredible environment here on this twelve-day tour. You will travel between three of the most stunning eco hotels in Costa Rica. Relax on white sandy beaches; hike the trails in National Parks, discover mangroves and deep blue lagoons; and explore the vibrant towns, getting to know the local people.
Our operator is designed to have as little environmental impact as possible. They hope to demonstrate what stunning places the rainforests of Costa Rica are and do their best to keep them alive and healthy. They are proud to be one of the first companies in Costa Rica to obtain the Certification for Sustainable Tourism for Tour Operators (CST), achieving the highest level.
Wherever possible they use local suppliers and promote contact between tourists and locals. This provides vital resources for the local economy so other, more damaging industries are not necessary for local people to make a living. The company also promotes understanding and education wherever possible. They provide customers with advice on how best to protect the environment they are enjoying.
Arrive in San José and be met at the airport for a transfer to your hotel, where you can check in and settle down.
Day two sees you taking an air transfer to the Osa Peninsula. Puerto Jimenez and Carate Beach are located on the eastern and southern (respectively) shore of Osa Peninsula. Puerto Jimenez attracts tourists due to the strong tradition of raising cattle. You can experience both local culture and some of the touches of luxury that come when tourists arrive in an area. Nonetheless, the main reason people visit is the stunning and verdant Corcovado National Park. Golfo Dulce, also found here, is one of Costa Rica's most hidden and amazing wonders, with huge bottlenose dolphins schools, hunchback whales groups, a fantastic wildlife rescue center and the wonderful Orquideas Botanical Garden. You will be staying in the Lapa Ríos, set in a private nature reserve spread over 1,000 acres of Central America’s last remaining lowland tropical rainforest. Lapa Ríos is paradise for lovers of wildlife, birding, nature and beaches. You will have plenty to keep you organised over the next few days. On day four of the trip you have two tours at the Lapa Ríos Private Reserve included.
Another air transfer on day five will take you to the Villa Blanca Cloud Forest Resort and Nature Reserve. This hotel was built to generate revenue to protect the Los Angeles Cloud Forest, so protection of the natural environment is a priority here. The picturesque hotel is reminiscent of 19th century Costa Rican towns. A full spa service and health club is also available here. Over the following day you will have the opportunity to take part in optional activities including guided walks, bird watching, and a zip line tour.
On day seven, you will travel to Manuel Antonio, where you will spend your next few days. The Manuel Antonio is a prized spot on the Central Pacific coast. It is full of breathtaking vistas, white sand beaches, and deep blue lagoons. Its wide range of habitats make it on of the most bio-diverse habitats in the World. Although relaxing on the beach is very popular, there is plenty to do for those who like to be a little more active. There are three hiking trails in the park which vary in activity level.
