Take a breath. It’s the 26th. You might be still stuffed full of food, shreds of wrapping paper turning up in inexplicable areas of the house. No more madly cooking, wrapping and planning. Or perhaps you don’t celebrate Christmas and the barrenness of the streets and obsessive Christmas advertising has finally finished. Don’t get us wrong, all of us here loved the holiday but it is nice to relax after and start thinking to plans for a fresh start and a new year…
Most of us are planning on travels for 2019 and it’s always a good idea to think ahead, before work restarts and life gets in the way, or before the best spots get booked up (January gets intense for us with bookings! Part of the reason we cherish this moment of calm). To make your life a little easier, we have collected up some of our favourite trips for families to get you inspired!
From Bharatpur, a bird-lover’s paradise, to rare and endangered big cats at Ranthambore and Sasan Gir National Parks, you’ll enjoy some totally amazing wildlife-watching whilst also getting the opportunity to see some of the country’s best cultural and historical sights. Your tour begins in truly spectacular fashion, with a visit to the Taj Mahal. The incredible architecture on display at this ‘New 7th Wonder of the World’ provides a stunning contrast to the wild natural beauty that follows on this trip.
Share the holiday of a lifetime with your family, and make some truly lasting memories together as you contribute to a meaningful conservation project in stunning Borneo. This project aims to maintain and develop a particularly beautiful part of the jungle, where breathtaking scenery combines with exotic and rare species to create a uniquely important area of biodiversity known as The Corridor of Life.
Wildlife in a desert – what is the first thing that comes to your mind? Camels? Scorpions and snakes? But what about… elephants? Based in the Namib Desert in southwest Africa, this programme is focused on the conservation of a unique population of (yes, you guessed it) elephants, one of only two herds in the whole of Africa to inhabit a desert environment. Whilst many may use adjectives such as ‘majestic’ and ‘breathtaking’ when describing these massive mammals, sadly another equally appropriate adjective is ‘endangered’. These tusked titans may be awe-inspiring to the eye but their numbers are dwindling, with serious conservation work required to secure their futures…
