A Shortlist of Our Favourite Eco Travel Products!
The flights, hotel, and project are booked! You’ve checked the weather forecast and updated all your vaccinations. Now for the hardest bit…packing. Where we go, what we do, and how we do it are all such important factors in being eco-friendly. However, what you put in your suitcase makes a big difference too…but don’t worry; we are here to help! We have gathered together our favourite products which will really help you “take only photos, leave only footprints”.
If you haven’t switched to one of these yet, why not!? Four toothbrushes a year for your whole life…that is a lot of plastic. Cutting down is simple and easy by switching to bamboo. We love this one from Zero Waste Club with a replaceable head; just buying a head each time saves you money each time.
If you’re from the UK, you may not need sun cream all that often. However, it’s so important to protect your skin for both long and short term health so taking a good quality sun cream with you is key to enjoying the warm weather. This one is high SPF, fully biodegradable, not harmful to marine life (so don’t worry about swimming with it!) and comes in plastic-free packaging! It’s perfect!
Don’t. Forget. These aren’t just for travellers! Did you know that around one million plastic bottles are bought around the world every minute and that annual consumption is set to top half a trillion by 2021! We definitely encourage everyone to drink more water for general health but if you’re heading off somewhere hot or planning on an active holiday then it’s especially key. Check out this stunning bottle from Chilly’s! Their products are always high quality and we love their designs to celebrate world oceans day. Plus 10% of proceeds go to City to Sea!
If you have a lot to pack and want to keep everything neat and tidy, packing cubes are a real help. These ones are made from recycled plastic so you know that some plastic has been rescued from getting into our environment.
If you’re out in the natural world on one of our more rustic experiences, chances are you might find yourself having a shower right in nature. Whether you have perfect plumbing or not, it’s important to remember that everything that goes down the drain has to go somewhere and adding lots of toiletries to the water isn’t going to help the environment much. This co-wash from Lush is a shampoo and conditioner with nothing toxic added and there is the extra bonus of it being solid so there is no chance of a spillage in your luggage and it can even come through hand luggage!
This pick n’ mix festival kit contains a whole load of products ideal for travelling and helps save money when you buy them together instead of separately so if you’re ready to head off on your first eco-adventure, check it out!
