"Help an NGO and get to know the local community in the incredible beauty of the Maldives!"
The Maldives may be famous for its pricey five-star retreats, glorious white sand beaches, and sparkling cerulean ocean, but the stunning islands also have a rural local population. The remoteness makes it difficult for these communities to get hold of resources.
On this project, you will have the opportunity to work with local NGOs to effectively promote the interests of local people. You can help in a number of sectors including education, conservation, health care, climate change prevention and awareness, grant writing, and research.
You will also have plenty of time to explore the surrounding area. You can snorkel and SUBA dive, surf and wake-board, visit remote uninhabited islands for picnics, and relax on the iconic white sand beaches.
You will live in a clean, modern home-stay with a private en suite. During the day you will get to know your fellow volunteers and the vibrant local community.
