If you arrive in the morning, you will have some time to explore the stunning old town and the surrounding area. If you want to organize a day trip, don’t hesitate to ask us and we will help you!

Begin your first full day in Ecuador by heading south to Cotopaxi National Park. Here you will have your first acclimation hike around Limpiopungo Lake. As well as the incredible landscape, you can see wild horses, wild bulls, and plenty of bird species. You will also have a spectacular view of Cotopaxi Volcano. In the evening you will head to Isinlivi, where you will spend the night.
The Toachi Canyon Trek is stunning. You will enjoy stunning Andean mountain landscape, views of small villages and indigenous people. You will hike down to the canyon of the Toachi River then back up to the main road that will take you to Chugchilián, a small town located on the middle of the Quiltoa loop. Here you will find your Eco-house accommodation. In the afternoon you will have time to explore the village and get to know a little of the local culture.
After breakfast, you will start your next hiking adventure. You will follow small trails blazed long ago and still used by local people. You will likely come across many locals exchanging goods and heading to neighbouring communities. You will hike down stunning canyons, later to climb back up to the crater rim, where you will be rewarded by incredible vistas and views of Quilotoa Lake. The magic of the place is truly breathtaking. You will stay the night in Quilotoa village and enjoy some local cuisine.
Today your goal is the stunning turquoise Quilotoa Crater Lake. You will hike down to the base of the crater, enjoying the beautiful view on the way. At the bottom of the trail you will have time so explore the crater. You will also have a chance to swim in the water to cool off, or take a kayak out.
The trek back up is the more challenging part of today’s hike. If you are feeling tired or just want a change from the walking you can hire a mule and ride the trail.
In the afternoon you will take a transfer to Riobamba in the Ecuadorian highlands.
Early in the morning, you will drive through the picturesque valleys and farming villages toward Chimborazo Volcano. This is the highest mountain in Ecuador and the summit is the farthest point from the centre of the Earth. On the hike keep an eye out for Andean condor, cara-cara, hummingbirds, and wild Vicuñas. Once extinct in Ecuador, the Vicuna has been reintroduced and is now protected. This gorgeous, timid creature is related to llama and alpaca.
At base camp you will fuel up on a delicious picnic, before leaving the moon-like landscape of Chimborazo. From here, you will head on to the tropical town of Baños and in the evening you will rest and recover from the adventures so far in the famous hot springs. As the sun goes down, the town quickly springs to life and you can enjoy the thriving nightlife.
